America is at a crossroads. The question is no longer whether we are divided. We are. The question is whether that divide becomes a new kind of civil war — fought not only with ballots, but with institutions, narratives, and the rules of the game itself — and whether we still have the will to win the battle for our future.

This morning we welcome two Southwest Florida Republican nominees heading into the November general election: Casey Askar (FL-22) and Jim Schwartzel (FL-19).

 Bios:

Casey Askar is the Republican nominee for Florida’s 22nd Congressional District. A Naples businessman who has lived in Collier County for more than 25 years, he is a U.S. Marine veteran whose family legally immigrated from Iraq when he was seven, fleeing religious persecution. He is Chairman and CEO of Askar Family Office, with interests in franchising, commercial real estate, energy, and construction; he employs thousands across South Florida and operates businesses in two dozen states. A married father of seven, Askar is an America First job creator who won a crowded GOP primary and has been endorsed by President Trump and Governor DeSantis. He is running to bring business leadership and a prosperity agenda to Washington.

Jim Schwartzel is the Republican nominee for Florida’s 19th Congressional District. A lifelong Southwest Florida native born in Naples, he is a Bishop Verot High School and Stetson University graduate who married his high school sweetheart, Carly; they are raising two children. He is president of Sun Broadcasting and owner of Gulfshore Life Media, including 92.5 FOX News, one of the region’s leading conservative talk stations, plus Gulfshore Life, Gulfshore Business, and The Naples Press. A businessman rather than a career politician, he won a crowded 10-candidate primary and is running as a local conservative voice to support President Trump’s America First agenda, secure the border, back law enforcement, and fight for term limits and common-sense solutions for Southwest Florida.

Note: Askar is the nominee in the newly drawn District 22 (which includes Marco Island and parts of Collier); Schwartzel is the nominee in District 19 (coastal Lee and Collier, including Naples, Fort Myers, and Cape Coral).
