Katie, as she is known, is a national security analyst. She served as a senior policy advisor in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in the First Trump Administration and then press secretary of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

She is currently Chair of the Fairfax County (VA) Republican Party.

Previously, she served as Director for Civil Society at the Heritage Foundation.

She has a BA for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in international political economy from the London School of Economics.

Katie is married to Sebastian Gorka, who served as Deputy Assistant to the President in the first Trump administration and was recently appointed Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism in the present Trump administration.
