On Wednesday, I attended the pre-legislative session panel luncheon hosted by the Chamber of Southwest Florida, along with the Southwest Florida delegation. The participants were eager to discuss many of the upcoming Bills with us.

On Wednesday, Governor DeSantis stopped in Naples to promote his new memoir called “The Courage to be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival”. A large crowd gathered to hear him speak and show their support.

The 57th Annual LaBelle Swamp Festival

was a huge success!

 

The Rotary Club Armadillo Races raised over $30,000,

a 62% increase over last year!

 

I was happy to attend this annual event.

Invasive Burmese Pythons

Burmese python populations, which can grow to 20 feet long have exploded in south Florida.

 

A team of researchers has been using location-tracking collars on species like raccoons and opossums that pythons prey on.

 

The researchers have been able to better locate, capture, and remove pythons from the Florida’s Everglades.

International Women’s Day

In recognition to International Women’s Day we salute our Senate President, Kathleen Passidomo, third woman to serve as Florida Senate President.

 

There has not been any woman yet, in the position of

Florida Speaker of the House.

CORNERThe Alpha House has Re-opened

 

 

The Alpha House, one of the transitional homes for Warriors of Collier County was destroyed by hurricane Ian.

 

Thanks to the help of members of the community, Alpha House was able to reopen on Monday.
